Quilts for Kids

On Saturday I dropped off eight quilt tops to Annapolis Quilts for Kids. I've been piecing these when I can. The computer for my long arm went on a vacation (the hard drive failed) so I haven't been able to use the robotics. This changes the time commitment for charity quilting so I haven't managed to get any quilted in about a month.
I also picked up a stack of fabrics to mix in with the scraps I have. I'm cutting out blocks for even more tops.

If you want to contribute but don't have the time or skills, you can support the national Quilts for Kids by going directly to their website and clicking DONATEI don't earn anything from this link.

If you want to support me indirectly, I do include Amazon affiliate links to products I use on my other blog posts. If you purchase the items I recommend, or anything else, after using my links to reach Amazon I receive a small payment from Amazon. I added my yearly income from these affiliate links to the sidebar if you want to see how that commission adds up.

My personal goal is to quilt at least one quilt per week throughout the year. To that end, check out the Epoch Converter for 2024 to see how I'm stacking up.

Quilt Piecing

A couple more little quilts pieced with leftovers. This one was fun. Pieced with leftover 9-patches, 4.5" squares pieced into larger 9-patches, and some leftover 6.5" blocks from other projects. Framed up nicely into a great little quilt top.
While I was piecing that one, I was also piecing this simple quilt using some 6.5" squares. I love that polka dot border.

Quiltober Quilt

I sewed the columns and rows together for my Quiltober quilt.
I decided to frame the center with a narrow 2" border and then a 6" border. If I had picked the outer border earlier in the process, I might have added more blues to the blocks and fewer greens and oranges. Not that it matters. I still have plenty of 2.5" charm squares. I might make another.

Quilt Piecing

I've been piecing charity quilts using some of the leftovers from other projects. I grabbed squares that matched the snake fabric to put together this simple quilt.
I had a stack of half-square triangle pieces cut so I matched them up and pieced this little quilt.
The last few half-square triangle pieces became these churn dash blocks. This one is my favorite of the quilt tops I made last week.
