Today I have a couple quilts that show how to pull colors together for a quilt. This won't work in every situation, but it is a good place to get started if you think you aren't good at color in practice. First, grab a focus fabric you like, or want to use for your color inspiration. Pull together colors that are in that fabric for your blocks. This one uses primary and some secondary colors. It was easy to pull out the blues, greens, reds, orange, and yellows. In the end, an effective quilt that uses a bunch of different fabrics that work when combined with the focus fabric.
I did the same thing with this large-scale print. Light and bright blue play nicely with the focus fabric to make a fun little quilt.
