Knitting Update: Dotted Rays

I finally made it to the last wedge of my Dotted Rays shawl. I can see the end. This will be such an amazing finish!

This has been my riding around project for so long that I'm going to miss it. Thankfully have so much sock yarn in my studio that I won't be at a loss for another project. I just need to decide what to make.

I do apologize for not having a finished shawl to share. I spent more time than I care to admit getting all the information into TurboTax for my 2015 return. I always wait too long and it always takes what seems like forever. I made it to the i-cord bind off, which isn't a quick process.

I did manage to sneak in a little sewing after all that tax work. I now have over 200 of these black and white 4-patch blocks. It's time to put them together into a quilt. More about that next time.

Vertices Unite on a Plane

This project was born out of a pile of yarn that Aunt Betty gifted to me and something a knitter said. The yarn is Tofutsies.

She said that Stephen West's pattern Vertices Unite was like a blanket that was socially acceptable to wear around in public.

Combine that with a business trip and many hours on a plane and you have the beginnings of that socially acceptable blanket. It is very much a work in progress, but I did manage to make it through to the end of part one.

I've also painted my nails once or twice this month, which is something of a miracle. I just can't seem to get away from the candy colors, though, so off it comes before work on Monday.

In the Mail Monday: Thread!

It comes as no surprise that I continue to receive thread.

Superior Threads is my thread of choice.

I really enjoy the thread of the month club. I belong to the So Fine! #50 thread of the month club.

I love thread. Of all colors. This month I also ordered a cone of Omni that was on sale. If you add other items to your club order the shipping is free, which is pretty awesome.

Someday I will have the complete library of colors for So Fine! #50. That's only 134 colors!

Knitting Update: Dotted Rays

Spring has come to my little piece of the planet. The daffodils are out in force. I took this picture on one of our evening walks. Such happy faces.

I'm still making progress on my Dotted Rays shawl. Design by Stephen West. I love working with short rows and this is no exception. This is my second one. I did lose at yarn chicken when I ran out of my handpainted yarn from Knit Picks.

I had to throw in this pretty purple yarn that can with my Options Short Needle Set.

I'm sure it will work out great and make quite a statement. I really am loving this shawl.
