This year I didn't make it very far without buying fabric. I tell myself every year that I won't buy fabric I don't need. Then, I go in search of backing fabric and come home with more than backing fabric. This time, it was a trip to
Spring Water Designs. The four, 1-yard cuts in the foreground were fabrics on the discount shelf. I have no plan for these fabrics but they were just too good to leave behind. I also grabbed a cone of Omni for the long arm. Omni is a great thread and one of my favorites for the long arm.
The goal of the trip, was backing fabric for my recently finished Charming Tapestry quilt top. At least I managed to get what I went for.
I also went through their scrap bin. This is one of my favorite things about the shop. I swear, if shops filled a quart-size plastic bag with scraps and slapped a price on it, I would buy it every time. I don't need more scraps but it is nice to add some variety to the mix now and again.
