On Friday Sew Desu Ne? published a new pattern that I could not resist. A Plush Backpack is not a a thing I need in my life but that doesn't stop me from wanting one.
I printed out the pattern directions and the pattern templates. I store patterns in a couple different ways, but this one I wanted to bind so I could page through it easily. We've had this comb binder for ages and I do use it a few times a year. I would love to recommend this one to you but it seems Amazon doesn't carry it and I'm not going to link to a comb binder I have tried. You can use the affiliate link in the sidebar if you want to go do a search for these machines for yourself. This allows you to punch and immediately place the pages onto the comb so everything stays in order.
Quickly punched and bound. I'll be adding a couple letter-size envelopes as the back cover to hold all the cut out pattern pieces. Why a couple envelopes? because the pattern includes two sizes and I want to keep those bits separate. I also picked up the Machine Embroidery Files for stitching the eyes. I can do the fine detail work of hand applique but I like to let the machine do some of the work.
Seriously, if you want to get started sewing fleece critters you should totally check the Sew Desu Ne? site. There is so much going on there (including some free stuff) and you'll find the best tutorials for working with fleece and faux fur. I used one of their patterns to make fun fish hats earlier this year.
