Accuquilt Go! 8" Qube

Let's open up the Go! Qube Mix & Match 8" block for the Accuquilt Go! First, when you order it directly from Accuquilt they include a copy of GO! Qube Mix & Match Blocks and Quilts Pattern Book by Eleanor Burns. It is a huge book with loads of great information about quilting to complement the content about using your dies. 

Each base Qube (there is a companion set that adds shapes) can make 72 blocks. This is not all inclusive, this is just the number of 8" blocks they identify in their downloadable pattern booklet. These are just a starting point. You can also combine these units into bigger blocks. I have so many ideas. 

The cutting dies come folded into this cube. 

These are the shapes you get in each basic Qube. Eight cutting dies that cut basic shapes. These are same shapes no matter which set you buy. The Qube comes in several sizes: 4", 5", 6", 8", 9", 10", and 12". I thought the 8" would be the most versatile for me. So far it has the basic shapes I use the most. 

So, what is inside the box? Each little book folds out to show pockets for each cutting die. Each one includes a simple block pattern printed on a square card. The DVD includes easy to follow instructions on how to cut your fabric (warp and weft make a difference when it comes to accuracy) as well as a tutorial for a quilt. More block patterns and a mat for cutting are also included. All you need is your Accuquilt Go! This set works with all three sizes of cutting machines. The cutting dies are numbered so you can keep everything straight.  

I'm super happy with my purchase. I'm considering buying the Qube 8" Companion Set-Angles so I can get even more variety. Keep an eye out for my first big Qube project. It will be an adventure in randomly selected and colored blocks.
