I used Bonnie Hunter's Scrappy Trips free tutorial to make some blocks. I used a bunch of 2.5" strips cut from leftover quilt backing. Every strip was unique.
I used a single dark strip on the long diagonal. Each block finishes at 12" by 12". I played with block placement a little until I had a layout I liked. Big blocks means I didn't need many. Then I sewed the nine blocks together and added a border. I think I spent more time making sure I had 54 different fabrics than I spent piecing it together. Overall, a great project I am likely to repeat. Perhaps I can add some greens to the mix and use some of the strips I already have read to go.
