While I was away, doing all the things I have to do as an adult, I
started dreaming about making things. Quilts, embroidery projects,
sewing bags and arm warmers and so many wonderful things. My brain was
trying to tell me that I'd been away from my creativity for too long.
Thankfully, my dreams didn't start until the last week, so I survived to
make it home with the majority of my sanity intact.
This is what I started with today. The perfect thing for a brand new baby boy. Well, it doesn't have too many fabrics with flowers, so that counts as just right.
I pieced and pieced until I had twenty four-square blocks. Then proceeded to be annoyed and continue to rearrange them until I came to this conclusion. Bright and playful, just like little boys.
While keeping them all in order, I managed to piece the top. I like it, even if I did fiddle with the layout for entirely too long.
I added the coordinating border in red on white print.
All that remains is the quilting and binding. Since it took me entirely too long to upload these few pictures, that will have to wait until tomorrow.
It's good to be home and be creating!
