Who needs a composition book cover?

I'm not entirely sure anyone needs a cover for their composition book. I made one anyway. (I cut enough fabric for two, but that isn't the point.)

A few big rectangles, a few small rectangles, a little stitching and ta-da! a book cover.
I have a few mental notes for the next one. I'm not entirely pleased with the fit, so adjustments will be made.

Over all, I think it came out pretty well for a first try. It even has a cute little slot to hold your pen.

Sunday Sewing Project

Today I put together this cute trio of bags. I think I'll call them... Little Pink Houses.

Snow Day!

Some days, you just can't trust the weather man.Because the weather was just horrible this morning, and the roads were more dangerous than I care to drive on, work just wasn't an option. Thank goodness there was only a 40% chance of snow.

To celebrate, I've updated the Mystery Quilt page with instructions on cutting the fabrics.

Winter Madness has set in.

I've had about enough of winter. It's getting to the point where as long as the temperature is anywhere above zero degrees Fahrenheit I think it's warm.

In an attempt to fend of the winter blues, I have decided to start a mystery quilt. It isn't a mystery to me, it's a mystery to you.

To join in, just clicky-click on the link to the right. The shopping list is ready.

I'll show you what to do every step of the way. If I miss something, if you don't understand something, please let me know. My goal is to post a new clue every week.

Oh! Please, share your pictures. I'd love to see what you've done. Besides, if you send pictures I won't be able to put off the next clue for very long.

Scrappy bags and quilt tops

Yesterday I spent a bunch of time working on a few UFOs (UnFinished Objects). I layered my last quilt top (no picture of that since it is rather boring).
With the help of one of the ladies, I've come up with a new way to create the Scrap Happens bag. Here you can see the pieced front and back of the bag. I've had this fabric sitting here, waiting to become a quilt for a month or so. I decided it was finally time to get all the blocks together. I think it came out great. This would be a great quilt for a little boy. Time to get it layered and basted for quilting. I have so many great quilt/craft ideas and not enough time.

Garden Windows

This week I've been working on this quilt top. Sometimes it just doesn't pay to have a complicated block layout.
I'm pretty pleased with the result, though. Now all it needs is backing, batting, quilted, binding added. Wooo! I'm getting tired just thinking about it.
