100 Blocks 100 Days

Sometimes when I make a block I wonder if I have missed an opportunity. I'm still not sure how all of these are going to become one quilt but I'm looking forward to it.

Hexagon Junk

What to do with that junk mail printed on light cardstock? Make it into hexie papers for English Paper Piecing.
This Fiskars extra large hexagon squeeze punch (Fiskars X-Large Squeeze Punch, Hexagon affiliate link) makes quick work of the light cardstock some junk mail is printed on.
This means I can get a pretty good crop of hexagons out of that one piece of junk.
A little bit of time basting (I thread baste but I don't stitch through the hexagon paper) and you are ready to hand sew those little hexagons together. There are loads of videos on YouTube to help you learn how to baste and stitch. It is a great carry-along project for traveling short or long distances.
Then you are one little hexagon flower closer to a quilt. I've been working on this project for years. I had to search the blog and I'm pretty sure I started it in 2014. I'm still making these little flowers. I likely will keep making them for years to come. I'm sure someday I will have a quilt.

Charity Quilting

Such great fabrics! Another one pieced by Mary.
I spent way too much time picking the quilting design for this one. I'm pretty pleased with the finish. Pieced by Trudy.

100 Blocks 100 Days

I approach each block individually. I pick a single fabric and work with it to make that block. I'm not sure how these are going to go together but I'm hoping it all fits together. Crochet Crazy

This yellow is so much brighter than it looks here. A real sunshine!
This is the latest crop of hexagons. I combine colors when I don't have enough of a single color to make the hexagon. I am hoping this will make the finished blanket more interesting. And, I won't have a bunch of short pieces of yarn leftover.

100 Blocks 100 Days

I love using up little pieces of leftover fabric to make these blocks. I'm still pulling from scrap bins and I think this will be a great quilt. I post these every day (except that one day when I forgot until the following day) on my Instagram. I tag all of the photos so you can easily find other makers.

Crochet Crazy

A friend gave me some Brava Worsted and I wasn't sure I would like it. It is a 100% acrylic yarn. I was pleasantly surprised. It is a great yarn to work with if you need something that is machine washable and wool just won't do.
I've decided to make as many 6" hexagons as I can and stitch them together into a blanket.
The pile of hexagons isn't very big, yet. These are great because I can make one in the evening after dinner and I feel like I have accomplished something. Do you have comfort projects like this? Something that you make that isn't too stressful but you feel good about it when you are done.
