Charity Quilting

Using up leftover strips. Pieced and quilted by me.
This 4-patch in square quilt turned out so much better than I had hoped. great for using up leftover 2.5" strips and 4.5" squares. Both are quilted, trimmed, and ready to go to Annapolis Quilts for Kids in August

Finally quilted this bright quilt made with leftover blocks.
I also quilted this odd blocks quilt. These are always a fun surprise. Both will head to Annapolis Quilts for Kids for binding.

Summer Sew Along

When the Summer Sew Along was just getting started, I decided I really liked the quilt. I also wanted to use fabrics I already had in my collection. I grabbed this multi-color print a friend gave me, and started pulling fabrics. The pattern calls for half-yard cuts and that isn't a size I usually buy. I did find a couple extra fabrics that I think will work into this quilt and had to narrow down the stack. I think it will be a great quilt. The background fabric is just Kona (I think it is the color Snow).
Each week we make a block, or a couple different blocks. I'm working through the clues as they come out. Here is where I am right now. I may have to make another nine-patch quilt because this is coming out great. This is the perfect quilt to make the most out of the Creative Grids Stripology XL ruler.

Charity Quilting

This past weekend I dropped off eighteen quilts with Annapolis Quilts for Kids. All are ready for binding. I also picked up a bag full of quilts to quilt for next month.

Brown Bag Mystery Quilt

I loaded my first Brown Bag Mystery Quilt onto the frame and got it quilted. You can almost see the quilting in the next photo. I still haven't picked the binding. I have some leftover pink and blue that might work.
And finished my second Brown Bag Mystery Quilt top. I have backing for this one and will get it quilted soon. I bought enough kits to make three quilts but I haven't started the third one yet. It is another solids quilt.

Odds & Ends

We went away for the weekend so this post will have some of everything. I did some crochet in the car. this is Red Heart All in One Granny Square. This is one of those love/hate yarns. It may take some practice to get the square to come out perfectly.
We went to New Jersey and attended DexLite by Double Exposure. This gaming convention is a great way to try out new games and play old favorites with like-minded people. Everyone gets a set of dice at check-in and I picked these.
The hotel had a pride display up in the lobby.
Before I left I used the Creative Grids Stripology XL Ruler to cut some binding. I have so many quilts to bind.

Pieces of Love: Quilting (again)

For my second try at quilting this quilt, I decided to use Echoed Curves from Longarm League
I admit I'm a sucker for an edge-to-edge that filles the space and doesn't hint at where one row starts and the next starts. Echoed Curves is one of those.
It quilted out beautifully and I think it added great texture to the quilt.
Here it is, trimmed and ready for binding.
I grabbed this fabric from my collection for binding. Binding is cut, sewn, and pressed. I just need to get it attached. My new favorite ruler for cutting binding is the Stripology XL. It makes cutting binding super fast and accurate. I don't think I'll ever cut binding with another ruler.
