Puzzling

When I found this delightful puzzle at my local gaming store, I knew I wanted to bring it home. Casually pieced over about a week.

Puzzling

A friend invited me over for some speed puzzling. This is my finished 300 piece puzzle. I wasn't that speedy (finishing at around 1 hour and 23 minutes). It was a fun exercise and I will attend if invited back. Check out lighthouse puzzles available from Amazon (affiliate link).
I saw this puzzle available from my local gaming shop and thought it might be fun. Turns out, a sea of blue takes quite a bit of time to piece.
This right here is what you call a challenging pair of pieces. Cut nearly identically. Meaning I had a false fit and I had to pull a handful of pieces to figure out what had gone wrong. Maybe I need better lighting.
I'm not going to tell you how long this took, but it wasn't speedy. Get your own copy of the AQUARIUS Jaws (500 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle) (affiliate link) or find one at your local gaming store.

I'm going to do a nice, slow puzzle next. Do you do jigsaw puzzles? A fun alternative to doing a puzzle at home, is Jigsaw Explorer. You can choose the number of pieces and invite your online friends to join in the fun.

Sorting Charity Scraps

I keep the scraps I create in this bin. I was having difficulty finding fabrics to pull for a cohesive quilt.
I spent some time sorting fabrics into color families.
From that chaos, I was able to piece this quilt top. It will go to the next Annapolis Quilts for Kids to be paired with some coordinating backing.

I pieced the scrappy blocks for both of these at the same time. Instead of combining the light and dark blocks, I paired them with light and dark prints. This one in pinks.
This on in purples. It's great to use of a bunch of scraps into a fun quilt. Both trimmed and ready for the next Annapolis Quilts for Kids.
