and the tennis ball is new again

The rain has been coming down the last couple days making me wonder if I should start building a boat. The back yard has become rather swampy, complete with a little pond that the water dog has considered swimming in. Okay, so it isn't that deep, but I could pretend I was sending her into the water to fetch a bird. She is somewhat water-resistant, so she didn't mind. A bit of the dirt washed off the tennis ball during this little game. I decided to see if I could get it even cleaner. I rinsed off the worst of the grit and sent it through the dishwasher.
Look! A brand new tennis ball.

Yarn makes me happy

I have been so busy with work and getting ready for the move, that I haven't accomplished much of note in the last week or so. I did get this great box of yarn in the mail today, though. Wanted to share. I'll be prepared to knit up a bunch of socks. This will come in handy during the long drive back to the east coast.

Leftovers

Sometimes, you have a little fabric left over. Sometimes you have more than a little fabric left over. This great little quilt was created with some of those wonderful leftovers.
Some flannel backing made it cuddle-worthy. A little bigger than a crib quilt, I think it's just perfect for covering up a little while sitting in front of the television. If you think I've in some way used up my scraps, I will assure you I have not even come close.

Rural Jardin Crib Quilt

This little quilt was created using two charm packs (and a little bit of yardage) from Rural Jardin by French General for Moda.
Simple, meander quilting holds the layers together.
A dark blue flannel backs the quilt.

Now, if I could just get some more sunshine, I could take more pictures.
