Scrappy Bricks

Time for another scrappy bricks project. This time, I decided to go big! The center squares are cut at 4.5" by 4.5" and the bricks are cut at 2.5" by 4.5". This is a great way to use up a bunch of 2.5" strips. Particularly if you're like me and have like a million of them. 

First I made this one. Each block measures 12.5" by 12.5" and finishes at 12" by 12" in the finished quilt. Only nine blocks make a great baby quilt that measures about 36" by 36". 

Then this one. I love scrappy quilts. Both of these will get quilted up for charity. This block can be made using just two dies from the Accuquilt Go 8 Inch Qube. If cutting with your ruler, you can get eight bricks from a single width-of-fabric 2.5" strip. It would make a great swap project, too.
