Whedonverse Swap: Big Damn Heroes

Last week I shared a couple things from a swap package that I sent to my partner.  Today I want to share the awesome package I received from my partner.  (I'm not going to go into excruciating detail, just say that in swaps you rarely make for the person making for you, so these were not the same person.)

This package came from the wonderful and creative Crystalyn. She managed to fit in everything I mentioned and in such an awesome way, too.

I wandered around my sewing room carrying this amazing mini with me while I tried to decide where to hang it.  In case you haven't heard, I'm a super fan of Firefly. Malcolm Reynolds might not be the first scoundrel starship captain but he is my favorite.  Joss Whedon did such a great job with the dialog in the series and I love it when an ensemble cast really works.

You can't see it, but there is a CD with a bunch of Firefly inspired music on it in that first photo.  The perfect inspiration for themed creating. I was so inspired that I sat still long enough to draft up an embroidery design that I don't think totally sucks. It isn't perfect, but it is by far my best ever attempt.

I've had some good luck and some bad luck with swaps.  This was one of my good luck swaps and I'm so glad I joined.
