I couldn't wait to at least try my hand at making one of these pouches so I popped over to Noodlehead to check out the tutorial.
Then I waded through my piles and piles of zippers. I wanted to try with the largest size, so I looked and looked for a 14" zipper. I found all of one. In all of this, I have one 12" zip and one 14" zip. How is that even possible! That meant I had to had over to ZipIt to buy zippers in a rainbow of colors! This is where I stock up on zippers. I bought 10", 12" and 14" zips. I'll be ready for the swap now. Bring it on!
I won't go over the steps (it seems I didn't take many pictures anyway). You can find all the details on Noodlehead. This bag is easy to put together, the directions are easy to follow. I made this one with the one 12" zipper I had on-hand and a couple remnants that were almost not big enough. That's the same size as the swap. I'm already ahead of the game!
I think the results are great! I will be using some of those new zippers to work on my Sew Your Stash 2015. This is a great way to use up some of the fabric you already have.
Have you joined any fun swaps this year?
Thank you for this great idea! I think, I will make one for my Mom's birthday!
