Sunday Cutting

On Friday, a friend brought me a box of fabric.  He said his wife wasn't going to use it and she knew I would.  It isn't a very big box, but it held treasures.

Inside I found all these.  I immediately knew what design I wanted to try.  Any of the prints that don't go with the chosen colors are destined for Quilts for Kids.  My working palette is an imaginative red/white/blue.

I spent the day chopping and pressing and chopping and pressing.  I didn't sew a single stitch all day.  I even went through some of my stash for likely candidates for the new project.  I'm going with reds, blues and whites and light tone-on-tone for the contrast.  I cut squares to 6.5" to add to my QFK stack, 5" charms because no one has enough, 4" squares to make into 3.5" half-square triangle blocks, 3" squares to make into half-square triangle blocks and stacks and stacks of 2.5" squares.  I see many, many, many nine-patches in my future.  I'm going to need some more neutrals to make this work, though.
